The Organ

The organ was built in the 1870's by Bevington & Sons of Soho

It is a rare organ and one of the few Bevington's that is still in it's original condition. For example the decoration on the pipework

There are still the remains of the pump handle at the back but it is now run using electric! The pump mechanism is still intact but the original bellows are now fed with the electric blower

The organ is of historic interest and is registered in the National Pipe Organ Register

It is maintained every year

We complement the organ with a sound system for when we don't have an organist and the sound system also provides microphones

The Inside

It needs a proper clean and the pipes stabilising (and that is another project we are trying to fund right now!) but here are some views from inside

And this is the "bellow" mechanism original hand puimped but now with an electric blower!

It costs over £20,000 each year to keep the church open and maintain the organ etc. If you are able to help at all, please click here or on the Parish Giving icon below. Thank you
